Mark at Worlds

Dunmow Tri is proud to have Mark Sanford as one of our members. He comes from a running background and has been coached by Eamonn Martin (who was the last British guy to win London marathon). He says his last good year of running was in 2011 when he won the Essex Cross Country championships along with the Essex 1500m, the Essex 5000m, the South of England 5000m and the intercounties 5000m. He was hoping to make the 2012 Olympic trials but had a big setback when a calf problem put a stop to his running. It was after this he joined us at Dunmow tri club with the aim of getting fit again. He took part in a few triathlons between 2014 and 2015 but qualifying for the GB team in duathlon this year has given him  a new focus and he is now training more. Although he does find it difficult to fit it all in having young kids too!
